I agree with you about the laptop, we should be more concerned with it. But this article is about corruption regarding people you like. The correct response is a) you’re wrong on the facts, and here’s why b) the facts are right but it’s ok for this reason. The incorrect answer is: hey, but there are bad people I assume you like. If you wrote a damning article about the laptop and the President’s ties to it, a response about some corruption about people you presumably like would be irrelevant.
