Hey Amy, I really do appreciate your response. I’m not above having tried out that ‘trolling’ thing, and can be snarky, but do believe that swallowing my pride is probably beneficial. You sound like a great person; helping those students out and all.

I do have some fundamental disagreements with you, but I do think ultimately you’re right in that solutions should come from the people. We’ve failed too many families for too long with an uncaring criminal justice and social benefits system and it’s heartbreaking.

You pegged me right as a Mises type guy, but I promise you that I truly believe a ‘true’ free market would allow more good than harm, and it’s ok if you disagree with me…but I don’t hold the belief because I want to be rich while other people are poor-I truly believe it offers the best solutions. I would love to convince you of that, but if I’m wrong, I’d be better off believing the truth.

I have been listening to a communist podcast, and it’s actually enjoyable. I listen to challenge my deeply held beliefs and try to understand what they would do if they were king for a day…I really still don’t, but I do see that George Carlin was right when he said ‘it’s a big club, and you ain’t in it’. And so I agree with you in that the change has to come from the people, because that big club is enriching themselves while pitting people like me against people like you. Oh, if you want to give it a listen, it’s called ‘Revolutionary Left Radio’. I fundamentally disagree with them on some things, but am surprised at how much foreign policy (we shouldn’t be killing so many people) I agree with them on.
